Helping Families Stay Warm and Secure
Project H.O.O.D. is hosting a Utility Assistance Program event on Saturday, April 5, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PMat 6620 S. King Drive, Chicago, IL. This program provides financial relief for families struggling with heating, electric, and water bills.
Available Assistance Programs:
Heating and Electric Assistance (LIHEAP - DVP)
A one-time benefit to assist with heating and electric bills.
Reconnection Assistance
Up to $1,500 to prevent disconnection or restore service for heating and electricity.
Furnace Assistance
Provides furnace repair or replacement for LIHEAP-approved households with non-working heating systems.
Peoples Gas Share the Warmth
Up to $200 toward the past-due balance of a household’s heating bill.
Water/Sewer Bill Assistance (Utility Billing Relief Program - UBR)
50% rate reduction on water, sewer, and tax bills for Chicago residents.
No shut-offs, penalties, or debt collection for those enrolled.
Debt forgiveness after successful program completion.
Eligibility Requirements:
Gross Income Guidelines: Based on family size, with income limits provided on the flyer.
Documents Needed to Apply:
Proof of 30-day gross income for all household members 18 and older.
Most recent heating, electric, or water bills.
Proof of Social Security Numbers or ITINs for all household members.
Additional documents may be required. Undocumented individuals are welcome to apply.
